Is it just me, or have there been fewer lj and dw posts recently amongst people I know? I know my viewing habits have changed since I moved timezones, but I find myself reaching for the "Previous 20" button a lot less than I used to...

That's been my experience too, at least among the people I know in RL(who are mostly still on LJ). There does seem to have a been a move to Facebook for quite a few of them - I know that with everything going on I've found it easier to type up a two sentence status update than a proper journal post.

I wouldn't be surprised if the DDOSes had had an effect, in forcing people to find other ways of communicating and then they've stayed with it even when LJ was back up.

It's not just you; I know very few of the same people you know, but LJ seeems to be dying the death. There were never more than half a dozen posting on my DW to begin with.

In my case it's a combination of RSI and back pain for the last couple of weeks.

Facebook isn't a natural home for me. I like longer considered posts, not short snappy ones. But some people I know mostly post there now.

I've noticed a reduction as well. Mind you, I've not posted since (checks) August due to the world being shit at meassorted problems.

I can't say that I'm making fewer posts in my journal since you moved,
but I might be making fewer comments in other people's since a folding bike folded up on me.
