I went to Hanmer Springs with my beloved and we ...
... went quad-biking! A long extended ride this time with a lot of hill climbing, the scenery was magnificent and the weather fantastic. Like last time, we had a great deal of fun - even if (unlike last time) C had a good go at scaring me by inadvertently rolling her bike.
... went to the thermal pools! Much more civilised than when we went back in a wet and windy October, but strangely seemingly less busy (though it was later in the day).
... went to the pub! because the curry house was full but said they'd have a table free in half an hour.
... went for a curry! Very tasty it was, too.
... saw the Milky Way! The night sky was absolutely gin-clear with uncountably many stars out. Despite the gentle street lighting within the township, and never having seen it before, I noticed a certain faint white hazy band spanning from one horizon to the other and at once knew what it was.
... went to a winery! Tasted and bought several bottles of some decent local stuff. So much nicer to buy it direct from the grower.
